DCDC Kidney Care Raises INR 150 Cr from ABC Impact

DCDC Kidney Care, a leading dialysis service provider in India under the umbrella of DCDC Health Services, has received an investment of INR 150 crore (approximately USD 17.4 million) from Singapore-based ABC Impact. This Asia-focused impact investment firm, backed by Temasek, aims to catalyze healthcare access in emerging markets.

Founded in 2009, DCDC Kidney Care currently has over 200 dialysis centers across India, with a mix of public-private partnerships (PPP) and company-owned standalone clinics. The company does almost 1,00,000 dialysis sessions a month and caters to over 20,000 patients a year, mainly targeting economically weaker sections of society.

With this new capital, DCDC is going to further its vision of transforming kidney care in India. The investment will help roll out more than 150 new clinics across the country in the next few months. These new centers will bridge the critical gap in dialysis access and affordability, especially for end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients who need dialysis thrice a week.

Last-Mile Connectivity

Aseem Garg, Founder and CEO of DCDC Kidney Care, said the expansion is in line with the Indian government’s flagship Ayushman Bharat Yojana and is designed to reach high-quality dialysis care to the last mile. He also hinted at plans to take DCDC’s kidney care solutions to countries beyond India.

“This investment from ABC Impact will help us enhance last-mile connectivity and make high-quality dialysis care accessible at patients’ doorstep,” said Garg.

Addressing a Critical Health Need

According to industry estimates, over 1.5 million people in India are living with end-stage renal disease. Many of them face barriers like high treatment costs, lack of infrastructure and inconsistent care quality. These challenges disproportionately affect low-income families, who often have to forego or discontinue treatment.

Sugandhi Matta, Chief Impact Officer at ABC Impact, said expanding affordable dialysis services in India is a dual health and economic imperative.

“By supporting DCDC’s growth, we want more patients to get life-saving treatment closer to home, reducing the financial and logistical barriers they face,” Matta said.

The investment from ABC Impact adds to DCDC’s existing investor base which includes IFU (through the Danish SDG Investment Fund) and Asian Development Bank (ADB). Both institutions invest in healthcare innovations that support the sustainable development goals. DCDC operates in a crowded space with NephroPlus which has over 350 centers across 200+ cities and has been backed by global investors like Investcorp and Bessemer Venture Partners. But DCDC’s focus on PPP and company-owned clinics gives it a unique edge in delivering affordable care to the underserved.

As India battles increasing cases of chronic kidney disease, initiatives like DCDC’s expansion will play a key role in the country’s healthcare infrastructure. With impact-focused funding and alignment with government initiatives like Ayushman Bharat, DCDC Kidney Care is ready to take affordable, quality dialysis services to more people not just in India but maybe internationally soon.
